Giraffe 1X
Swedish 3D surveillance and air defense radar providing target acquisition data for integrated C-UAS architectures.
System Overview
What It Is
The Giraffe 1X is Saab's 3D surveillance and air defense command and control radar, providing air surveillance and target acquisition data for short-range air defense systems including C-UAS architectures.
How It Works
The radar uses active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology to provide 3D surveillance of the airspace. It is fully supported within the US Army's FAAD C2 architecture.
Primary Capability
3D air surveillance and target acquisition radar for short-range air defense and C-UAS applications.
Overview
The Giraffe radar family from Saab represents Sweden's contribution to allied air defense capabilities.
FAAD C2 Integration
As a supported sensor within FAAD C2, Giraffe 1X provides surveillance tracks and enables cueing of organic effectors.
