Citing its source, Reuters said the drones are made by Ukrainian drone firm SkyFall and equipped with autonomous targeting software from US firm Auterion.

Auterion CEO Lorenz Meier confirmed to the outlet that the latest contract is worth €90 million and is funded by a European country, while SkyFall confirmed Berlin’s involvement but declined to comment further.
Meier said some have been delivered to Ukraine, with the rest expected this year.
Auterion said in July 2025 that it delivered 33,000 artificial intelligence (AI) drone “strike kits” to Ukraine, backed by a $50 million Pentagon contract. The latest delivery likely consists of similar, if not identical, targeting systems.
Similar technologies, often dubbed “last mile” targeting, are also offered by Ukrainian defense firms such as TAF Drones and The Fourth Law (TFL).
Berlin’s and Kyiv’s defense ministries declined Reuters’ request for comment.
SkyFall manufactures an assortment of FPV drones for frontline use, as well as bomber drones known as the “Baba-yaga” and interceptor drones called “P1-SUN.”
The Ukrainian drone firm’s facilities were also visited by the late US Senator Lindsey Graham just days before his death on Saturday, July 11.
Reuters called the deal “one of the biggest known purchases of drones for Kyiv by a Western government.” In April, London announced a 120,000-drone package for Ukraine consisting of long-range strike drones, reconnaissance systems and logistics drones, among others.
A Kyiv Post analysis at the time asserted that the British package of 120,000 drones was about 9-11 days of domestic production.
In April, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv could produce “millions of FPV drones per year,” while a report by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (RNBO) in January said the country has the capacity to make 8 million FPV drones per year.
Using that figure, Ukraine could theoretically produce around 20,000 FPV drones per day.
