DZYNE Technologies has unveiled Blitz, a next-generation expendable Group 1 unmanned aerial system designed for affordable mass, rapid adaptability and autonomous operations. The company said the system is intended to meet defence demand for small, smart and cost-disruptive unmanned aircraft that can be fielded at scale.
Blitz is designed for multi-mission flexibility and high-volume swarm deployment. DZYNE said the aircraft reflects lessons from contemporary conflicts and Department of Defense priorities for attritable, open and interoperable platforms.
The system will be displayed at SOF Week 2026 at booth 2221. Attendees will be able to view the aircraft, its modular payload architecture and several deployment configurations.
“Blitz represents a fundamental shift in how warfighters can project mass, adaptability, and speed,” said Connor Toler, Blitz Product Manager at DZYNE.
“By pairing true affordability with a deeply modular architecture, Blitz gives operators the freedom to scale missions on demand, from single asset reconnaissance to synchronized multi aircraft effects,” Toler added. “It’s designed to be trained quickly, deployed anywhere, and integrated with existing digital ecosystems without friction.”
Blitz uses a foldable and packable airframe that fits inside an 80-litre rucksack for small-unit operations. The company said the aircraft can be assembled and made mission-ready in under two minutes.
DZYNE said the platform can also scale for larger distributed and attritable force employment. Open interfaces and Payload Development Kits aligned with Modular Open Systems Approach principles allow integration of DZYNE payloads, third-party modules and end-user-developed systems.
The aircraft has an estimated range of about 80 to 150 km without forward staging. It offers endurance of one to two hours, with long-endurance battery options available.
Blitz has a cruise envelope of 40 to 75 knots equivalent airspeed and can carry payloads of up to 5 lb. Its payload options are intended for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, electronic warfare, deception and other mission effects.
The aircraft uses quiet electric propulsion to support low-signature operations. Native ATAK and MAVLink integration is designed to allow use with current command-and-control ecosystems and reduce time to mission.
The modular design includes interchangeable nose sections, payload bays, wingtips, GNSS and visual navigation modules, telemetry tails and several battery configurations. DZYNE said the system can be reconfigured rapidly in the field with minimal tools.
Deployment options include hand launch for rapid low-footprint missions and a four-pack rail
